Shrimp Creole

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons salad oil
  • 1 pound can tomatoes
  • 1 8 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 dash tabasco
  • 1 teaspoon cormstarch
  • 12 ounces raw cleaned shrimp
  • 1/2 cup

Directions

Serves 5-6. Cook onion, celery and garlic in hot oil until tender. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and seasonings Simmer uncovered 45 minutes Mix cornstarch with 2 teaspoons water. Add to the simmering mixture. Cook and stir until sauce thickens. Add shrimp and green pepper. Cover. Simmer until done - about 5 minutes.
