Clam Chowder

Ingredients
- some chopped bacon pieces
- some chopped onion
- 1-2 bottles clam juice
- 1 can clams
- some diced potatoes
- some milk
- chicken stock (if you don't want much milk)
- salt and pepper
Directions
This is one of these recipes where you just throw things in and they come out tasting wonderful.
Chop some raw bacon into small pieces - I suppose you could use salt pork, too. Chop a large onion or so and fry it with the bacon or salt pork pieces.
Add the liquid - the clam broth - it may be two bottles and probably some chicken broth - or water. We can't remember. Dice some potatoes and add them to the broth and let them cook along with the clams. Mom added milk at some point and she may have used milk instead of broth. I guess you could do whatever you want to. Season with salt and pepper.
Note
Becky Waite and I gave it our best shot to try to remember how Mom made this
