French Dressing ala Craig Claiborne

Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic
  • salt
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dusseldorg or Dijon mustard (not ball park mustard)
  • 4 drops Tabasco sauce
  • 6 tablespoons oil

Directions

Chop the garlic with salt until it is almost a paste and add it to a salad bowl or mixing bowl.(Garlic cubes work really well.) Stir in the remaining ingredients, using a wire whisk, until well blended.

Yield: 1/2 cup
