Elke Diener's Special Spinach Casserole

Ingredients

  • 3 10 ounce packages frozen spinach
  • 1 8 ounce package cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup sliced water chestnuts
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 cup bread crumbs

Directions

Thaw and drain spinach. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix spinach with cheese, water chestnuts, 2 tablespoons of butter, salt and pepper to taste.
Turn into a greased 1 1/2 quart casserole. Toss the remaining butter with the bread crumbs and sprinkle over the spinach mixture. Bake until lightly browned.
