Lamb Patties

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 1/4-1/2 cup soft, fresh bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup onions
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon rind
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Directions

Mix all ingredients together and grill or broil. The actual recipe calls for 2 pounds of lamb but I use 1 pound with the spices and it is just perfect. You might cut down a little on the bread crumbs if you don't care for them.
Serve with curried rice and mint jelly or even better, black currant sauce made by thinning Black Currant Jam.

Note

These have very nice flavor due to the spices.
